Jim Demint Endorses Todd Akin

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Missouri Congressman Todd Akin just got two big endorsements. The U.S. Senate candidate now has the support of Senator Jim Demint (R-S.C.) and former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Akin made headlines for his controversial comments about rape last month. He ignored calls from a number of Republicans and GOP groups to drop out of the race following those remarks. Akin is trying to unseat Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill.
