SC Woman Charged with Neglect at Preschool

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) _ A Myrtle Beach woman has been accused of infant neglect at a church preschool center. Forty-six-year-old Mary Lynn Boggs is charged with illegal neglect of a child after parents called police last week to complain. The parents said the woman had harmed their infant daughter at the Ocean View Baptist Church Teaching and Learning Center. The initial complaint accused Boggs of using excessive force to restrain a girl during nap time. The Department of Social Services is investigating. A spokeswoman would not elaborate. A pastor with the church, Everett B. Douglas, issued a statement that Boggs no longer works at the school. Douglas says the safety and health of the children is always a primary concern. He would not comment further. It was not clear if Boggs has an attorney.
