COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— A Camden man was sentenced to over 18 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing fentanyl.

On July 1, 2020, Kershaw deputies responded to a drug overdose at a home in Camden. The victim, a friend of the defendant, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sean Taylor, 27, was arrested after admitting the victim’s overdose was due to fentanyl he distributed to them.

Taylor confessed to authorities he first injected himself with a syringe containing fentanyl and then handed the syringe to the victim.

The victim collapsed to the floor and was unresponsive immediately after injecting themselves with the drug.

Taylor left the residence without calling 911.
