Suspected Burglar Arrested After Waking Up Victim At Home

Jacoby RichardsonSUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with The Sumter County Sheriff’s Department arrested a suspect wanted on first degree burglary charges.

32-year-old Jacoby Richardson of Wedgefield was arrested Monday after he allegedly gained entry into a home in the 5700 block of Cane Savannah Road in Sumter by ripping a window screen.

Authorities say that once inside, Richardson was forced out of the residence by the victim.

K-9 units was able to track the suspect to a residence in the 800 block of David Austin Road.

Richardson is being held at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

Officials continue to investigate the incident and more charges are possible.
