Second Arrest in McDonald’s Shooting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Columbia Police have arrested a second man in connection with a shooting that occurred at a McDonald’s restaurant. Torance Lamar Peoples, 20, was arrested Wednesday morning at the Days Inn on Parklane Road by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force. Authorities have also arrested 23-year-old Terrell Lamont Bethel. Both men face seven counts of attempted murder and weapons charges. Authorities say on Saturday, September 15, Peoples and Bethel were a part of at least two groups that got into an argument in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at 2911 Two Notch Road. Police say the men then fired a gun into a crowd inside the restaurant shortly before 9 pm. Three people were hit by bullets, and a male victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate the shooting.
