SC State Takes on ECU

GREENVILLE, NC— South Carolina State look to turn things around, when they take on host the Pirates of East Carolina Tuesday (Dec.22) at Williams Arena. Tip-off is 2 p.m. (EST) and will be televised live on ESPN3.

The Bulldogs (5-7) look to snap a two-game skid after suffering back-to-back losses to Duquesne (68-83) and St. Bonaventure (45-64) in their last two outings. Junior guard Eric Eaves leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 14.5 point per game. Sophomore guard Ed Stephens is second with 13.8, while senior forward Gabriel McCray chips is 10.8 points and 4.8 rebounds.
ECU (7-5) looks to remain undefeated on home this season against South Carolina State. The Pirates dropped a tough 67-61 road defeat to James Madison on Monday (12/20) in Harrisburg, Va. East Carolina has three players in double-figures with B.J. Tyson leading the way with 14.5 ppg and 6 rebounds, Caleb White is second with 13.4. Kentrall Barkley leads the team in rebounding with 6.7 and is scoring 10.2 points.
The Bulldogs improved in several categories from last season averaging 72.6 points per game, while limiting turnovers and also averaging 5.2 steals per contest.
South Carolina State returns action after the holiday break, the when Bulldogs travel to the Midwest for another three-game road swing beginning with The Ohio State on Dec. 27 in 6 p.m. (EST) non-conference matchup.
