Suspect leaves amputated pinky finger at scene of stabbing

Three people are arrested after a stabbing outside a Title Max on Broad River Road Saturday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Three people have been arrested after an attempted murder, in which one person was stabbed outside a Title Max on Broad River Road Saturday.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department says it happened just before 5:30 p.m. at 3038 Broad River Rd. Deputies say the victim, a man, was lying on the ground, with multiple stab wounds in the upper body. The victim was transported to the hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

Deputies learned the victim was stabbed by 29-year-old Andrew Gathers and 44-year-old Jarvis Hurst. 38-year-old Marlon Hurst is also a suspect. Officials say the three suspects fled the scene in a 1999 gold Saturn. They located the vehicle, and the men, on the 2000 block of Ramsgate Drive.

Andrew was bleeding from his right hand. Deputies say his pinky finger had been cut off. He was taken to the hospital. His pinky finger was recovered at the scene of the crime, and reattached at the hospital. Andrew will be taken into custody once he’s been treated.

Marlon and Hurst have been lodged into Alvin S. Glenn Dentention Center.
