Sheriff: Shooting Victim was Recent Kidney Transplant Recipient
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department are searching for one or more suspects wanted in connection to the shooting death of a man early Sunday morning.
Sheriff Leon Lott said just before 3 a.m. on Sunday, January 3 at Long Green Parkway at Churchland Drive deputies were called to investigate after a motorist saw an overturned motorcycle and a victim lying near by.
Authorities say that at first appearance it looked as though the motorcycle had crashed into a tree in the wood lines.
It was determined by the Richland County Coroner Gary Watts that the victim, Adrian Silva died as a result of a gunshot wound to the upper body.
Sheriff Leon Lott said that Adrian was a husband, father, grandfather and was recently a recipient of a kidney transplant, with the help of a caring community outreach program.
