Columbia mayor holding virtual town hall meeting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin is using technology to hold a meeting that’s open to everyone — as long as they have an Internet connection.

On Wednesday, Benjamin is holding a virtual town hall meeting. City officials say people can pose questions via Twitter or Facebook and tune in Wednesday for the answers.

The conversation will be streamed live on the city’s website at www.columbiasc.net .

Cynthia Pryor Hardy is moderating the meeting. Hardy has a local talk show and hosts a weekly radio news talk show.
