Numbers From Florida

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Gamecocks are now ranked 13th in BCS poll, 16th in the coaches poll, and 17th in the AP poll after their 44-11 loss at Florida this past weekend. Here are some of the key numbers from that game. Quarterback Connor Shaw started the game but was only in for the first half before Head Football Coach Steve Spurrier elected to go with backup Dylan Thompson for the second half. Shaw threw for 72 yards on 9 of 20 passing attempts. Dylan Thompson had very similar numbers throwing for 83 yards on 8 of 20 passing attempts. Thompson also threw a late game interception. Shaw was also held to -2 yards on the ground. Running back Marcus Lattimore did not start the game an was limited to just 3 carries for 13 yards because of a lower back injury not a hip injury as was previously being reported. Kenny Miles started in place of Lattimore and had 5 carries for 15 yards. Freshman Mike Davis also carried some of the load for the team with 6 carries for 20 yards. The special teams was held to very little, only producing 66 yards between punting and kicking returns, while also having two of the teams three fumbles.
