Brew lovers unite for “World Beer Festival”

Beer lovers came together Saturday for the "World Beer Festival" at the Columbia Convention Center

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Beer lovers came together Saturday for the 8th annual “World Beer Festival” at the Columbia Convention Center.

This year’s festival, officials say, featured 21 South Carolina brewers; the most ever on tap. There were almost just as many from North Carolina brewers. For the first time, the festival featured a Cider Garden, filled with 26 different ciders ranging from the traditional to the experimental. There was also a separate section for hard root beers and sodas.

The festival is produced by “All About Beer” magazine, which is based in Durham, N.C.
