Thornwell Wants to Turn Tide Against Tide
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Alabama (11-8) comes to Colonial Life Arena Saturday night for a weekend, SEC trip to play USC (18-2), but Carolina Guard Sindarius Thornwell wants the rematch from January 13th’s Alabama win to be a little different.
“Just the simple fact that they gave us our first loss, we’re motivated off of it,” said Thornwell Friday. “They beat us and celebrated on us.”
On Saturday night, the Gamecocks, who had once won 15-straight games before Alabama’s 73-50 throttling over USC, welcomes that same team, but this time, it’s at Carolina’s house.
“We wouldn’t want to go 0-2 against them, especially on our home court,” said Thornwell. “The biggest thing right now is protecting our home court.”
Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
