COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The 13th ranked (BCS) Gamecocks play the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday, October 27 at noon at WIlliams-Brice. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN. Here are the numbers on the Volunteers. Passing Junior quarterback Tyler Bray is throwing the ball about as well as any quarterback in the SEC with 1914 yards and 16 touchdowns this season on 144 of 244 passing attempts. According to ESPN, Tennessee ranks 28th in the nation in passing yards at 285.3 yards a game. Rushing Tennessee also has an effective run game ranking 56th in rushing yards per game, according to ESPN, with 168.4 rushing yards a game. Rajion Neal is the team leader in carries, yards and touchdowns with 112 carries, 500 yards, and 5 touchdowns. Although Neal missed last week’s game with Alabama he is expected to play this week against the Gamecocks. While Neal was out, Marlin Lane was the premier back for the Volunteers. Lane has 52 carries and 240 yards for the year. Defense Tennessee has 10 sacks and 9 interceptions on the season. Junior Defensive Lineman Darrington Sentimore is the teams leader in sacks at 4. The Volunteers are ranked 99th in points against allowing 33.3 points per game. Comparing this to the Gamecocks; who have 29 sacks and 9 interceptions through seven games. Sophomore Jadeveon Clowney is USC’s leader in sacks at 7.5. The Gamecocks are ranked 15th in the nation in points against allowing 16.3 points per game.
