Wofford tries to win 15th in a row over Citadel

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Wofford stayed in the Southern Conference race with a win last week over Appalachian State. Terriers coach Mike Ayers knows they will have to do the same thing Saturday against The Citadel to keep their title hopes alive.

Ayers says Wofford is aware that the Bulldogs can beat anyone. The Citadel knocked off Southern Conference powers Appalachian State and Georgia Southern in September before losing three in a row.

Bulldogs coach Kevin Higgins says he hopes a win over Western Carolina and a bye week has his team back on track.

In other games Saturday involving South Carolina’s Football Championship Subdivision teams, Furman travels to Elon; South Carolina State hosts Howard; Coastal Carolina hosts Liberty; Presbyterian hosts Stony Brook; and Charleston Southern hosts NAIA team Edward Waters.
