72-year-old woman found dead after SC house fire

MARIETTA, S.C. (AP) — A 72-year-old woman has been found dead after fire burned a home in Marietta.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler says fire crews were called to a home around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday.

Crews knocked down the flames and found a body inside the home close to the back door.

Fowler identified the woman as Meredith Lee. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
