Boyd Ties School Record In 56-20 Win At Duke

DURHAM, N.C. (WOLO) — Two weeks in a row, Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd has thrown five touchdown passes in two dominating wins, first over Wake Forest last week and then over Duke Saturday. “You’re seeing him improve every week,” said offensive coordinator Chad Morris. “He may have a throwback week, he may have a week he’s not hitting something, but overall you’re seeing him really grasping his confidence level running the football and passing the football has really been huge.” Over the past two weeks, Boyd has thrown for a combined 772 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also ran in a touchdown in the win over Duke. Boyd says it all comes down to the team’s execution from the get-go to help him accomplish that. “Very proud of the way the guys came out and played regardless of the conditions, or the environment, or things of that nature. Just came out and put some things together early and executed the game plan. I’m very proud of the way the guys worked tonight.” Boyd and the Tigers get set to finish out the rest of their regular schedule in Death Valley. They host Maryland next Saturday.
