Three teens dead and one injured after shooting in Richland County
Three teens are dead after a shooting on Sunday, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Three teens are dead after a shooting on Sunday, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says at around 2 p.m. on the 200 block of Saddletrail Road deputies responded to a shooting call. When deputies arrived they found four people with gunshot wounds.
All four victims were taken to the hospital where three of them died. The victims who died were between the ages of 16 and 17, according to investigators.
The fourth victim was treated for a gunshot wound and has been released.

The Richland Co. Coroner’s Office has identified the victims as Dre’von Riley, 17, Jakobe Fanning, 16, and Caleb Wise, 16.
Three teens are in custody in connection with the incident; Karlos Gibson, 17, and Jahkeem Griffin, 17 and an unidentified 14 year old.
Officials confirm all of the teens involved were students at Eau Claire High School.
Superintendent Dr. Craig Witherspoon released a statement on the shooting saying, “The Richland One family is grieving the loss of three young lives to senseless gun violence. Three Eau Claire High School students were killed Sunday afternoon (September 24, 2023) in an incident that occurred on Saddletrail Road. Our Crisis Team is at Eau Claire today to provide counseling and support to any students and staff who may need assistance. We also have additional security on campus as a precaution. This is an unimaginable tragedy, and we ask everyone to keep the students’ families and the students and staff at Eau Claire High School in your thoughts and prayers.”
