Troopers: Pedestrian Dead After Collision On Orangeburg Highway

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A pedestrian was killed after a fatal collision on an Orangeburg County highway, say troopers.

The collision happened around 11:37 a.m. on U.S. 301 on Oct. 23, 2023.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet Pickup was driving north when the driver hit a pedestrian standing on the side of the highway.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, say officials.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the collision.
