Coastal Carolina’s Big South hopes are in Liberty

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — If Coastal Carolina beats Presbyterian on Saturday, the Chanticleers will quickly become Liberty fans.

Liberty kicks off against Stony Brook two-and-a-half hours after the Coastal Carolina game starts. A win by the Flames gives the Chanticleers a chance at the Big South Conference’s automatic playoff bid.

If Liberty and Coastal Carolina each win out, the three-way tie for the league title goes to Coastal Carolina.

Chanticleers coach Joe Moglia says he has hope, but he also knows Stony Brook is one of the best teams the Big South has even seen.

In other games Saturday involving South Carolina’s Football Championship Subdivision teams Charleston Southern hosts Gardner-Webb; Wofford hosts Chattanooga; The Citadel travels to VMI; Furman is at Appalachian State; and South Carolina State in at North Carolina A&T
