Three Sumter schools dismissed early due to power outage

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Sumter School District has announced that three schools in the district have been dismissed early due to a power outage.

Kingsbury Elementary, Millwood Elementary, and Sumter High are currently without power, said the district.

Busses for Kingsbury and Millwood began running at 12:15 p.m. and busses for Sumter High School began running at 12:45 p.m.

The district said they are working with officials from Duke Energy to restore power to the schools and the surrounding community.
