DHEC encourages everyone to get updated vaccinations

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) says people are most at risk for seasonal illnesses during the fall months, winter months, and large holiday gatherings.

The agency is encouraging everyone to get their updated immunizations.

Dr. Johnathan Knoche with DHEC says moving into the holiday season South Carolina sees a lot more respiratory illnesses like the Flu, COVID, RSV, and common cold viruses.

He says the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is by getting vaccinated.
