Truck driver accused of stealing $80 thousand dollars worth of chickens

Sumter, SC (WOLO) — A truck driver is accused of stealing 80-thousand dollars worth of chicken in Sumter County. Deputies say 55-year-old Christopher Thomas, of Florence, was hired by Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Sumter to deliver approximately 41-thousand pounds of chicken to Georgia.

When he was arrested investigators say they believe he had already sold about 33-thousand pounds of chicken.
He has since been taken to the Sumter County Detention Center.
