Part of South Main to close temporarily due to construction

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Department of Transportation is closing a section of South Main Street, near College Street.

The closure is due to the installation of a new underground drainage system.

Work will take place during the day and is expected to last through the week.

Each night barricades will be removed and South Main will be open to traffic.

SCDOT says detour signs will be put in place.
