Brenda Lee makes history with Christmas classic ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’
(CNN) — An old Christmas classic is taking over the charts.
Brenda Lee’s ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree’ is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs for the first time.
The 1958 holiday anthem is seeing a resurgence with nearly 35 million streams and 21 million radio plays so far this year.
Lee was just 13 years old when she recorded ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree’.
Ahead of the song’s 65th anniversary, she dropped an official music video featuring country singers Tanya Tucker and Trisha Yearwood.
Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ came in at No. 2.
