COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Fire said an unattended stove-top is to blame for a fire that destroyed a house on Summit Avenue off Monticello Road around 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Officials said two residents fell asleep, leaving their cooking unattended. They awoke to smoke alarms and made it to safety.
