Southwest Airlines policy gives plus-sized flyers extra seats for free

(CNN)– Ahead of the holidays Southwest Airlines is reminding plus-size travelers of its free seat offer.

People who are able to sit comfortably within armrests can get an extra seat for free if available.

Southwest asks eligible travelers to alert them ahead of their travel time and but two seats.

Then they can get a refund for the second one.

Plus-size passengers with documentation can pre-board to secure adjacent seats.

Southwest says the perk isn’t available on every flight.
