Columbia man accused in deadly shooting is convicted

Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — A Columbia man will be spending the rest of his life behind bars in connection with a deadly shooting. 43-year-old Lavon Julius was convicted Wednesday afternoon by a Lexington County jury after thirty minute of deliberations in the murder of 15 year old Zeloni Ellison.

Julius shot Ellison to death outside his grandmother’s apartment off of Roberts Street in Lexington for allegedly irritating him.

Julius will serve his sentence in the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
