Lexington Co. deputies arrest Chapin man accused of attempted murder

Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — Lexington County deputies have arrested a Chapin man authorities say stabbed a man multiple times Sunday evening.

According to arrest warrants, 23 year old Cameron Thomas Hinckley is being charged with attempted murder, first degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Officials say the charges stem from an altercation that deputies were called to on Loveless Lane around 8 pm Sunday night.

Authorities say the victims wife alleges Hickely knocked on their door, after she opened the door she claims he pushed his way past her and made his way to the victim who was on the back porch of the home. Deputies say the victims wife intervened during the alleged attack separating the two at which point deputies say Hinckley walked back to his home.

When authorities continued investigating they say they were informed that Hinckley was still at his home, but after arriving officials say he refused to come outside. Deputies tell us were able to take Hinckley into custody roughly 30 minutes later without incident.

 Hinckley was transported to the Lexington County Detention Center where at last check he was scheduled for bond court Monday afternoon.
