WATCH: Deputies Arrest Suspect in Overpass Shooting on I-20

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) — Deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department say they have made an arrest in connection to a shooting near an overpass.

17-year-old Kyle Pratt of Leesville is facing attempted murder charges in connection to the shooting on the Quattlebaum Bridge.

Deputies believe the Pratt fired multiple gunshots at cars from the bridge above Interstate 20 in southwest Lexington County.

A State Transport Police officer discovered one gunshot wound victim after checking on a car that was parked along I-20.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition, authorities say.

Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said the, “community was uneasy. Making an arrest less than 24 hours after event and giving them peace of mind was very important to us.”

Authorities say Lexington County deputies, State Troopers and State Transport Police officers plan to conduct increased patrols in the area around the bridge and along I-20.

Pratt is appeared in bond court at 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The investigation into I-20 shootings is ongoing. and more charges are expected in this case, Sheriff Koon said.
