Boaters Discover Body in Newberry Co River

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – We’re following a developing story out of Newberry County where authorities are investigating a suspicious death. The sheriff’s office says boaters discovered a body along Broad River near Peak around 12:30pm Friday. The coroner is still working to identify the victim. He has not been able to determine the gender or race at this time. Investigators have not said why the body was in that area but add they’re looking into foul play as a possibility.
