Correctional officer funeral arrangements announced

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A sergeant who died last week will be laid to rest today.

Sergeant Ricky Green, Jr,’s funeral begins at 3 p.m. at the National Guard Armory on Platt Springs Road in West Columbia.

The 34-year-old was found dead on Dec. 13.

Green was actively serving in the South Carolina Army National Guard and was employed by the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

He’s survived by his wife and two sons.

Flags are at half staff in his honor.
