Bird seen on South Carolina coast on endangered species list
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has added a bird that can be seen on the South Carolina coast to the endangered species list.
A spokesperson for the group says the Black-Capped Petrel is now an end greed species.
Officials say major threats to the Black-Capped Petrel include habitat loss and degradation due to deforestation and forest fires and depredation by nonnative mammals within its breeding grounds.
