Almost 5 million blenders sold at Costco, Target and Walmart are recalled due to blades breaking off

(CNN)– BlendJet is recalling nearly five million of its BlendJet two portable blenders due to fire and laceration hazards.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the blenders can overheat or catch fire and the blender blades can break off.

The company says it has received hundreds of reports of the blades breaking off while in use as well as reports of fires, burns and one person being cut.

The blenders were sold at Costco, Walmart and Target.
