Bank Robber Uses Taxi as Getaway Car

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) – Authorities with the Columbia Police say they have arrested man who they say used a taxi as his getaway car following a bank robbery.
Sammie Greene, 54 , allegedly went into the Bank of America located at 2111 Devine Street and passed the teller a note demanding money just before 4:30 p.m. Monday, officials say.
According to officials, the victim complied with Greene’s demands and no one was injured.
Police later found Greene an apartment at Allen Benedict Court near Harden Street
He is charged with entering a bank with intent to steal.
Greene is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
