COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — In another 12 to 15 months, Marcus Lattimore will be able to embark on the next chapter of his football career. That’s how long his doctor, Jeff Guy, says it will take him to be completely healed from a right knee injury he suffered during the Tennessee game in October. Lattimore injured three of the four ligaments in his knee, but only the ACL had to be completely reconstructed. Wednesday, Lattimore alongside USC head football coach Steve Spurrier and Dr. Guy, announced he will forego his final year of eligibility and enter his name in the 2013 NFL Draft. “I mean, it’s been a dream of mine, you know, for five or six years,” said Lattimore. “I know it’s going to be tough.” Lattimore will leave his place in the Gamecocks history books. He leaves school records in rushing touchdowns with 38 and also total touchdowns with 41.
