Prisma Health to host classes for children suffering the loss of a loved one
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands is offering the Healing Hearts Grief Program for children ages five to 18 to help them deal with the loss of a loved one.
Officials say the program will connect children with their peers to allow them to safely express their emotions in a comfortable environment.
Each child that particiants will attend four classes that each focuses on a different topic dealing with emotions, memories, coping skills and changes.
Also, parent and caregiver classes will meet and cover the same topics at the children.
All programs are free and dinner will be provided, says hospital officials.
The classes are held at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Midlands on 7 Richland Medical Park Drive from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and dinner starts at 5:30 p.m
