Man Accused of Giving Child Two Black Eyes

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A 22-year-old man is charged with unlawful conduct toward a child after he allegedly gave a toddler two black eyes.

On Monday, June 6 at a home in the 300 block of Bailey Street, Joshua Mikell Stevens is accused of grabbing the face of 2-year-old child in his care and repeatedly hitting him.

Authorities say in addition to the two black eyes, the boy also sustained other injuries to his body.

The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was released, officials say.

Stevens is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
