Motorcycle driver killed in crash, not wearing helmet

CHAPIN, S.C. (WOLO) – A Chapin man, who was not wearing his helmet, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Lexington County Saturday night.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said it happened in the 3000 block of Wessinger Road in Chapin around 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

The Lexington County Coroner has identified the victim as Christian Kallenbach, 49. Kallenbach died at the scene. The coroner will perform at autopsy Monday to determine a cause of death.

Authorities said Kallenbach’s motorcycle veered off the road into a ditch.

The investigation continues.
