Feds open Title IX investigation into Lexington School District One
LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) – The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights has opened a Title IX investigation into Lexington School District One.
A group of Lexington High School parents filed the complaint back in February. They allege that the girls’ softball field at the high school is not up to par with the boys’ baseball field, and is a risk for the girls’ safety.
We reached out to the district for the response. The chief communications officer said Lexington One was recently notified that a complaint was filed, but they’re under the impression that the complaint is either being withdrawn or dismissed.
We ran that by OCR, which said it’s not aware of the case being closed.
