Woman arrested in friend’s death in North Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Columbia Police have charged Tameka Randal, 30, in the death of her 26-year-old friend in an apartment in North Columbia.

Authorities said the apartment is located in the 100 block of Lorick Circle. Police said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has identified the victims as Marvetta Rowe. She was found with a gunshot wound. Investigators said they believe Rowe and Randal were inside the apartment, when Randal shot Rowe.

Randal turned herself into investigators Sunday. She is charged with voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
