Columbia teen killed crossing road

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A 17-year-old Columbia man was killed trying to cross traffic in Northeast Columbia Saturday morning.

The Richland County Coroner said Tyshon Townsend died at the hospital, after being hit by a car at Hardscrabble and Dolly Roads around 9 a.m.

An autopsy will be performed Sunday morning to determine the cause of death.

The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
