Boil Water Advisory Issued for Parts of Richland County

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Residents of Longcreek Drive (from Broad River Road to Riverwind Drive), KFC and The Hollow Apartments in Richland County are being asked to boil their water following an eight-inch water line break.

The break could possibly result in bacterial contamination in the water.

Water customers in the area are asked to vigorously boil their water for one minute prior to drinking or cooking.

The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem.

All food processors and restaurants should comply with prescribed USDA and SC DHEC recommendations, respectively.
