Benedict Places 10 On All-State Baseball Teams

Benedict Baseball PlayerCOLUMBIA, S.C. (Benedict) — Ten Benedict College baseball players have been named to the Palmetto State Baseball All-State and All-Freshman teams.

Second baseman John Holleran and outfielder David White Jr.were named All-State first team for Division II and NAIA teams. White was named All-SIAC and the Black College Nines Elite Team after leading the Tigers with a .409 batting average, 14 home runs and 49 RBIs. Holleran, also named All-SIAC, hit .379 and led the team with 29 stolen bases.

Six players were named honorable mention All-State: PitcherDevon Lemon; relief pitchers Yaniel Delgado and Myles Snype; shortstop Shomarii Thomas; and outfielders Andrew McCoy andArmando Valentin.

Snype was also named to the honorable mention All-State All-Freshman team, along with third baseman Joel Manzano and outfielder Yancy Freeny.
