Columbia,S.C. ( WOLO) —

Gamecock Football great turned NFL professional running back, Marcus Lattimore is using the gridiron to inspire local youth.

Lattimore has partnered with First Choice to host this year’s youth football summer camp at different locations through out South Carolina.  While the event only takes place over a one day period during each of the three events, Lattimore is hoping to help area youth hone in on their skills on and off the field.

The Camp is open to children ages five to seventeen, the first kicking off July 16th. The $40 dollar fee will be waived for the first 25 children to sign up for a day full of tools learning more about good health, strong values, dignity and respect.

The events are set to take place at the following locations listed below:

July 16th: Greenville  – Kroc Center 424 Westfield Street, Greenville, SC 29601

July 30th: Columbia – Dreher High School 3319 Millwood Avenue, Columbia SC 29205

August 13th: Myrtle Beach – Carolina Forest High School 700 Gardner Lacy Road, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579
