WATCH: Family pleads for answers in loved one’s murder
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – A Northeast Columbia family is pleading for answers in the death of their loved one, Jamell George, who was gunned down in his parent’s front yard just hours before he would have turned 27.
George was murdered the night of July 2. Richland County Sheriff’s investigators said George was sitting in his car in his parent’s driveway on Pinedale Drive, relaxing after getting home from his job working for a landscape architect. Detectives said two black men in hoodies attempted to rob him, he resisted, and when he tried to run away, they shot him dead. George was a father to a one-year-old boy.
So far, detectives have come up with composite sketches of the two suspects, but have not made any breaks in the case. The family has raised the reward money for information leading to an arrest up to $5,000. If you know anything about the case, call CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
