Universal Music Group threatens to pull songs off TikTok

(CNN)– Universal Music Group says it’s pulling its works from TikTok.

In an open letter it says the social media platform isn’t willing to pay artists and songwriters what it considers a just rate.

It also cites concerns about Ai and online safety for users. Universal says the last day of its current contract is today.

In response TikTok accuses the company of greedily acting against the best interests of its artist.
