Hootie and the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker arrested on drug charges

Williamson Co., TN (AP)  — Hootie and the Blowfish band member and solo country music star Darius Rucker is facing misdemeanor drug-related charges after being arrested in Tennessee Thursday.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says the 57 year old was taken into custody in Tennessee Thursday and charged with two counts of simple possession, casual exchange and violation of registration.

According to his Rucker’s attorney, Mark Puryear is “fully cooperating” and has since been released on $10,500 dollars bond.
Hootie and The Blowfish are currently on their ‘Summer Camp With Trucks Tour’, making a stop South Carolina in August.
