US economy added 353,000 jobs in January

(CNN)– The federal government reports the U.S. economy added a stunning 353 thousand jobs in January.

It’s a stronger than expected gain to kickoff 2024.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics also found the unemployment rate remained at 3.7 from the month before.

It’s the 24th month in a row that the nation’s jobless rate has been under 4%.
