Passerby discovers dead body along shoulder of I-20
Lexington Co., SC ( WOLO) — The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a death after authorities say a passerby discovered the body along the side on the shoulder of the interstate 20 while traveling in the Westbound lanes near mile marker 62.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher says the victim has been identified as 22 year old Stephanie Chanel Quintana of Columbia. According to Coroner Fisher, Quintana was located in a grassy area that was located along the side of the highway just after 7 am Friday morning.
Detectives and crime scene investigators went to the scene to begin their investigation into how the young woman ended up there and how she died. Officials with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, The Lexington County Coroner, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol MAIT continue investigating to determine the cause and manner of death.
