Midlands owner accused of evading thousands in taxes

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The Department of Revenue says a Midlands restaurant owner is accused of evading more than $238 thousand in taxes.

Officials with the state Department of Revenue say Debra Courtney, the owner of Gadgets in Kershaw County was arrested on Friday and charged with 12 state tax offenses.

Investigators say she under reported sales to the revenue department by more than $2.4 million.
